Austin - Born and Raised Texan inspired to dance by Schnappi das kleine Krokodil.
Austin was introduced to partner dancing for the first time in 2010. He went to a country western dance hall where he thought the epitome of good dancing was bad posture, no frame, and spinning the girl as fast as possible while being off time. It wasn't until he met Kali Casas later that year in a dance hall that he realized how small his dance knowledge actually was. She introduced him to west coast swing in 2012, and since then he has made it into the All Star division. He and Kali started a routine partnership in 2015 when they debuted in Rising Star, and are currently in first place on the Rising Star tour. They plan to move into the showcase division next year and continue to share their passion with others in the community.
Kali - Challenges all to a one foot spin off
Kali Casas was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She was first introduced to partnership dancing (and Austin Scharnhorst) in 2010 at the local country dance halls. In 2011 she found West Coast Swing while attending the University of Texas at Arlington for her Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance. After 12 years of figure skating and 6 years of acting, she discovered that West Coast Swing was a much better suited outlet for her creativity. She began competing in West Coast Swing and UCWDC country in 2013, and two short years later, Austin and Kali began their partnership debuting their first rising star routine. Currently, they are first in the rising star tour and are very excited to debut their first showcase division routine in 2018.
